On Thursday, January 6, 2022, was held at the Hotel des Douanes, located in the industrial zone of Oloumi, a working session of the Technical Committee Mercuriale. Under the chairmanship of the Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes.
The customs administration has just put in place a new mechanism for regularizing export duties on manganese ore, which has been formalized by two regulatory texts, namely
- Order n°049.21/MER/MPGM of 13 August 2021, determining the terms and conditions for regularizing manganese export duties;
- Order n°050.21/MER/MPGM of 13 August 2021, on the powers, composition and operation of the technical committee for the implementation and monitoring of the mercurial system applicable to manganese ore for export.
The purpose of this working session was:
- A reminder of the texts in force;
- The proposal of the mercurial rate for the 1st quarter of 2022.
Indeed, the CTM has among other missions, the updating every three months of the mercurial, indicative tax base for statistical purposes and in order to estimate the customs debt, while waiting for the manganese ore exporting companies to inform the FOB value in the customs computer system following the effective sales.
